Million-Dollar Question:
What do successful people do on a daily basis that helps them to achieve their goals?
During training sessions, I frequently ask people some version of that question. The vast majority of the time they respond with something related to soft skills and a routine.
In fact, you give it a try. Go ask anybody that is great at what they do, “What did it take for you to become successful?” It’s practically guaranteed that their answer will have something to do with soft skills and some type of routine or consistent action steps.

When it comes to goal achievement, It’s ok to plan from the top down. But… to create a strong foundation you build from the bottom up.
Take a look at the S3 Goal Achievement Model at the top of this article. Soft skills lead to consistent actions steps. Those are the things that enable you to accomplish your short-term goals and objectives which ultimately lead to the achievement of your long-term goals. (By the way, that model is part of The Soft Skills Success Plan which you can download for free.)
Think big and dream big. Go all out for your lofty goals and aspirations. Just be sure to build all of your efforts on a solid foundation of consistent actions steps and soft skills.
