S3 Spotlight: Seychelles Voit

S3 loves to shine a spotlight on the successful young professionals–like Seychelles Voit–that we meet during our events. Seychelles was recently the co-facilitator along with Al Duncan for the 4th Annual Lessons Workshop.

What are your professional goals?

After receiving my BS in Biology from TSU, I was studying for the Dental Admission Test until I was BLESSED with an internship at Los Alamos National Laboratory in the Bioscience Division recruited through the S3TEM initiative. This internship influenced me to aspire a career path in biomedical sciences and pursue a graduate degree in Microbiology at the University of New Mexico.

What has been your experience with the S3TEM Program?

My experiences have been rewarding from attending the 4th annual workshop where I was able to collaborate with peers from other universities, to receiving the monthly S3TEM newsletters and watching the latest episode of the Soft Skills Success Show aka Skill Talk.

What soft skills have helped you the most?

Duncan’s Five Soft Skills Clusters have been the most beneficial to me in the workplace and personally. Each cluster has helped me to identify the various soft skills that I need to improve my work practices and professional relationships.

I want to thank you, Dr. Lee for your vision to start S3TEM.
